Maison Tilquin, Antwerp - Silver Plated Cutlery Canteen in the Louis XV/Rococo-style - 168-piece/12-pax. - Belgium, early 1950's
Beautiful and very extensive silver-plated cutlery in multiple canteens, manufactured around the beginning of the 1950's by the house of Tilquin. Tilquin has been an established name in Antwerp since at least the end of the 19th century, and was located on the Meir and Frankrijklei, among others. The company still exists. This cutlery is made in an elegant Louis XV/Rococo pattern, with C and S shapes, rocaille, scroll work and floral details. The whole consists of 168 pieces, and contains pieces for the starter, fish dishes, the main course, desserts and fruit. In addition, there is also a large collection of 21 serving pieces.

The cutlery is in good, slightly used condition. There are superficial scratches from use. The silver's luster is still beautifully preserved.
Marked on the back of all pieces with [Blanco][100][Fencing sword]. The Blanco mark was used for Tilquin's silver-plated cutlery.
