Christofle Silver-Plated Coffee and Tea Set - 1935-1959

A Christofle silver-plated coffee and tea set, made for the Paris branch of the British department store Kirby, Beard & Co.  The Art Deco jugs feature octagonal, serpentine designs and hardwood handles. The set dates from 1935 to the early 1950s.

Consisting of:
- Coffee pot (24 cm high by 18 cm wide from handle to spout)
- Tea pot (21 cm high by 20 cm wide from handle to spout)
- Large sugar bowl (16 cm high, 15 cm wide, diameter 11 cm)
- Creamer (10.5 cm high, 12 cm wide from handle to spout).

This set is in excellent condition, with some minor signs of wear. The jugs are undamaged. The interiors are clean. The set has likely been used very little, if at all. Superficial scratches are present here and there.

Marked on the underside with [KBCo][Kirby, Beard & Co. Paris][Elephant]. Below is the Christofle maker's mark from after 1935: [O-Chess Piece-C]

Kirby, Beard & Co. was a British department store, known for its selection of high-end luxury goods such as Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and, of course, silverware. Its Paris branch remained in operation until the 1960's. Christofle primarily supplied the company with its wares in the 1930's.
