Large Silver Plated Handled Tray - Sheridan Silver Co. - Massachusetts, U.S.A., 1950's
A large and richly decorated silver-plated serving tray with handles, produced by Sheridan Silver Co., founded in Massachusetts in 1944.
The tray is beautifully ornamented with Rococo-inspired motifs, including shells, rocaille, and scrolling foliage. The rim shaped and gadrooned, the central surface finely engraved.
The tray stands on four shaped feet, decorated with latticework and scrolling leaves, giving it both presence and stability. Its generous size makes it ideal for serving drinks, displaying items, or as a statement piece on a table or sideboard.
