Antique Pair of Silver Plated & Gilded Cake Dishes - Ribbons - Orfevrerie Christofle, 1907

Fine pair of silver-plated and gilded cake dishes, of oval shape on raised bases. Reeded rims with crossed ribbons (this would become the famous "Rubans" pattern). Gold-plated interiors. Each piece decorated with a raised monogram of stylized acanthus leaves.

In excellent condition. The gilding is in remarkably good condition, as it was usually applied very thinly.
